Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) er en almennyttig organisation
(nonprofit), samt i nogle lande en velgørende organisation, helliget
formål at fri software. FSFE
fastholder, at frihederne til at anvende, undersøge, dele og forbedre
software er af afgørende betydning for at sikre ligeværdig deltagelse og
støtte af softwarefrihed i politik, jura og samfundet generelt. Vi
fremmer også udviklingen af teknologier, så som styresystemet GNU/Linux,
der giver disse friheder til alle deltagere i det digitale samfund.
Velkommen til Free Software Foundation Europes hjemmeside. FSFE
blev stiftet den 10. marts 2001 og understøtter alle europæiske afspekter
ved fri software, særligt
GNU-projektet. Vi støtter
aktivt udviklingen af fri software og udbredelsen af GNU-baserede
styresystemer som for eksempel GNU/Linux. Vores kompetencecenter
for politikere, advokater og journalister, sikrer fri softwares
juridiske, politiske og sociale fremtid.
FSFE's arbejde er gjort muligt takket være mange individuelle
bidrag, særligt Fellowship of FSFE.
En måde at bidrage på, er at
blive medlem nu samt
opfordre andre til at gøre det samme.

Fellowship Interview with Smári McCarthy

Smári McCarthy is a thoughtful anarchist and practical chaos technician - with a deep interest in Free Software and democracy. Currently serving as project manager for the Icelandic Innovation Center, Smári works on digital fabrication and peer-to-peer education, while spending his spare time breaking the fundamental assumptions of how we organise society. I sat down for an interesting interview with Smári, in which he explained his projects and how they can contribute towards a more sustainable world.

Introducing FSFE's new president, vice president and executive team

During its General Assembly in Miraflores de la Sierra, Spain, the
members of FSFE elected new coordinators for several of the
organisation's activities, including strategy, legal and executive
coordination.

GA 2009: Spanish Team Meeting & Social Event

FSFE's Spanish team is proud to invite all people interested in Free
Software to a team meeting in order to set the group's agenda for next
months. The meeting will take place alongside FSFE's 2009 General
Assembly in Residencia La

de la Sierra, Madrid. After the meeting there will be a Social
Event with the opportunity to meet and get to know various people from
FSFE's Executive Team
and General Assembly who have come
to Miraflores
de la Sierra, Madrid, for the yearly meeting to discuss and decide
upon FSFE's strategy for the coming
year.

May has been an hot month for us. Not only because the first real sunbeams
start showing up all-over Europe, but mainly because during the whole month
we run our first-ever voting process to elect a Fellow representative to FSFE
General Assembly (GA). Moreover, we published our call for applications as
coordinator and staff positions in our legal department, and our Austrian
team concluded its challenging and satisfying tour across the whole Austria,
by participating to "Linuxwochen Eisenstadt".

FSFE booth at RMLL Nantes/F

The 10th RMLL, Rencontre Mondial de Logiciel Libre (LSM, Libre Software
Meeting) is taking place at Nantes. Rainer Kersten will organise a FSFE
booth there.
RMLL is the most important Free Software event at France. This year,
GNU/Linux User Group Nantes is expecting some 5000 visitors at the
University of Nantes.
Whoever would like to come and help, is highly welcome. Please contact
dus@office.fsfeurope.org
for coordination.
Fellowship Meeting in Berlin in Juli

Fellowship group will meet on 9 July at 7.30 pm at the Newthinking
Store located in Tucholskystraße
48.
This time there will be a discussion with representatives from
political party youth organisations about free software.

FSCONS 2009, Göteborg, Sweden

This year's FSCONS (Free Society Conference and Nordic
Summit) takes place on November 13-15 and is co-organised
by Fellows of FSFE. More than simply a conference, FSCONS
is a meeting place for social change, focussing on the
future of Free Software and how to build a Free Society on
